UBC Hiring Solutions is part of Human Resources at the University of British Columbia.

UBC Hiring Solutions is responsible for providing the campus community with a qualified talent pool to meet their temporary employment needs. We manage the temporary staffing needs of various departments on the Point Grey campus as well as Robson Square (downtown) and the UBC units at Vancouver Hospital and Children’s hospital.

At UBC Hiring Solutions, each assignment will differ in the work performed according to classification. We have determined the core competencies needed to perform various roles in a way that best supports the goals of the University.

The basic skills requirements are:

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook,)
  • Ability to type at least 40 wpm
  • Internet access and usage experience
  • Standard office equipment (e.g., photocopiers, calculators)

Applicants chosen for a face to face interview will be tested onsite using a software and typing simulation program to confirm knowledge and skill level.

In addition to the above, other skills that can be an asset are:

  • Finance
  • Scheduling
  • Web design software
  • Databases
  • Editing
